Heather Lawrence

Chiropractor

Qualifications:
Dr. Heather Lawrence graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2015 after attaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from Guelph University in 2010. She also attended Augusta State University in Georgia, USA to play in the NCAAs.

Specialties/Approach:
Dr. Lawrence’s approach is a modern take on chiropractic care. Her repertoire includes soft tissue therapy/muscle release therapy, spinal manipulative therapy, instrument-assisted therapy (Graston/Myo Rok/Voodoo Band), electrical modalities and rehabilitative exercises.

Dr. Lawrence works with a variety of patients of all different ages and stages of life. These include professional/semi-professional athletes, weekend warriors, pre- and post- pregnancy, pre- and post- operative populations and desk jockeys!

Dr. Lawrence addresses all muscle, joint and nerve concerns/injuries. Her specialties include whiplash, vertigo, sciatica, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, ankle, knee and hip injuries and much, much more!

About:
Dr. Lawrence is originally from Pickering, Ontario. She moved here in November of 2016 to continue her chiropractic career on the west coast. She loves HIIT training, breweries, tennis, volleyball and Netflix binges.

Why she became a Chiropractor:
Dr. Lawrence has always had a passion for anatomy and physiology, so she knew her career would be in the sciences. Originally, Dr. Lawrence thought she would become a nurse like her mom but when completing her undergraduate degree her interests fluctuated from nursing to neuroscience and finally chiropractic. Chiropractic care encompasses the anatomy, physiology, neurology and hands-on care that she loves. The ability to spend time with her patients and learn about who they are, what their goals are and create personalized care is invaluable and a vital component to her holistic care approach.

Athletics:
Despite her small stature, Dr. Lawrence played volleyball in the NCAAs at Augusta State University in Georgia and varsity volleyball at Guelph University in Ontario. Although she tells people she played middle (just to see their reaction), she actually played libero.

Something you should know about her:
Dr. Lawrence loves all animals. The staff at Petland see her far too often when she frequents their store to say hi to all of the little critters. She especially has a soft spot for dogs. The main reason she does cardio is to ensure she has enough stamina to pet all of the dogs she sees when she is walking around the city.
