Achieve The Active, and Healthy Lifestyle You Want!

What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology is the science of human movement, performance, and function. It applies the science of biomechanics, anatomy, psychology, and neuroscience to human movement and function. Practitioners are required to have completed a minimum four-year degree in a specialized kinesiology program from a recognized post-secondary institution.

What is a kinesiologist?

A kinesiologist is a health care professional that can help individuals with injury, disability, or medical condition(s) reach their health and fitness goals. Kinesiologist are human movement specialists that utilize science-based exercise principles adapted to enhance the movement, function, and performance of individuals to prevent or manage injuries.

Many people will be referred to a kinesiologist after seeing a physiotherapist, chiropractor, or massage therapist to begin active rehabilitation. This involves learning proper movement mechanics, fixing muscle imbalances, and building an overall strong and healthy body. Our aim is to provide ‘a bridge’ in care from clinic-based treatment to home, life, and work re-integration.

We commit to providing client-centered services specifically designed to meet your unique needs as well as help you reach your optimal physical performance in exercise, sport, work, and everyday life. After your initial assessment, a program is tailored to your goals based on the analytical findings of your data. A typical session with a kinesiologist will include a cardiovascular component, injury-specific exercises, core and postural stabilization, strengthening, and education on the principles of posture and body mechanics. Our goal is to help transition you from the clinic to your everyday activities without further injury.
