Qualifications

Kelly graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2020. Prior to this, she studied Sport Science at Douglas College for 2 years.

Approach

With Kelly’s passion for athletics, she wishes to focus her practice on helping her patients live healthy and active lives. She believes that pain does not have to be a part of daily life, and that injury-prevention goes a long way in achieving this. Kelly emphasizes movement, patient education, and long-term goals in her treatment plans. She tends to provide deeper pressure when needed, and incorporates myofascial techniques.

About

Kelly was introduced to Impulse as a competitive powerlifter wanting to recover from past injuries, and improve her performance both in the gym and at meets. She has years of experience in many sports and thanks to this, she knows what the demands of the body are from many different perspectives. Kelly can attest to the benefits of massage therapy not only in a sport setting, but also with stress reduction and migraine/headache relief.

Why she became a RMT

Ever since her childhood, Kelly dreamed of a career in athletics. After experiencing the positive impact that massage therapy has had on her pain and overall life, she sees an opportunity to do the same for others. Kelly is passionate about helping her patients understand their own bodies and reach their goals.

Athletics

Kelly has competed in a wide array of sports including volleyball, rugby, track & field, crossfit, olympic lifting, running, and dance. She’s since landed on powerlifting, where she plans to continue competing for the foreseeable future. When she’s not at the gym, she likes to take advantage of the beautiful hiking trails the Lower Mainland has to offer (mainly Golden Ears, it’s amazing).

Something you should know about her

She is obsessed with dogs (aren’t we all) and dreams of having a giant garden where she can grow her own veggies and fruit.
