Specialties/Approach:
Domenic’s continuing education and experience allows him to assist the athletic population or individuals old and young with an injury that impedes their ability to function without pain. Domenic ensures people leave educated on what injury they have, the expected timeline for recovery, and the tools to manage independently at home to achieve their goals.

About:
Domenic grew up in Port Coquitlam playing various competitive sports including soccer, baseball, and volleyball. Outside of that he enjoys his off days on the golf course, hiking/jogging, or biking on the endless trails the lower mainland has to offer.

Why he became a Physiotherapist:
Experiencing a few injuries growing up that took him out of the sports he loved, he grew a desire and passion to assist people in minimizing their time away from the activities they partake in.

Athletics:
Never made it pro (like he had a chance) but played high levels of both soccer and baseball until reality clicked in and he took his talents to the University of Western Ontario to become a Physiotherapist.

Something you should know about him:
He is a passionate Toronto Maple Leaf fan – if you do not like this then there are other therapists to book with because this will not change, EVER !! He hopes one day to see them win the cup before the age of 65

Shannon Craig

Registered Physiotherapist - BScKIN, MScPT

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Kinesiology with a certificate in Health and Fitness Studies, Simon Fraser University
Master’s in Physiotherapy, Oxford Brookes University
Upper Extremity Active Release Technique Certified ®
Trained in NeuroKinetic Therapy ®
AN-IMS1/dry needling trained (Anatomical Neuropathic Intramuscular Stimulation)

Specialties/Approach:
Shannon is committed to addressing rehabilitation holistically. This includes investigating why an individual may be prone to certain injuries, educating clients regarding injuries and treatment protocols, addressing any soft tissue imbalances that may be present, and providing an exercise program to restore function and prevent further injury.

About:
Shannon is a Port Moody girl, born and raised. She has participated in a variety of sports including lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, volleyball, and her greatest passion rugby. She is always up for a challenge, and her current goal is to learn how to play pickleball (hoping it will be a little easier on the joints than rugby).

Why she became a Physiotherapist:
Shannon has competed in various sports and has seen the impact physiotherapy has had on athletes from an early age. As an athlete, she is able to empathize with those who are injured and able to tailor rehabilitation programs appropriately. In fact, Shannon is often managing her own rehabilitation program, addressing her weekly battle wounds.

Athletics:
Shannon is passionate about anything rugby; you can find her playing, watching, coaching, and even refereeing the sport across the lower mainland. It was the exposure to this physically demanding sport that sparked her interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation. She began her studies at Simon Fraser University and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a certificate in Health and Fitness Studies. From there, her passion for rugby drew her to the United Kingdom where she obtained her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at Oxford Brookes University while maintaining her status as a varsity athlete.

Something you should know about her:
While Shannon may have been one of the hardest hitters on the pitch in her prime, she is actually a softie outside of rugby, and can often be found participating in her other hobby baking breads and various desserts when she is not on the field.

Juliana Pierri

Juliana graduated in 2012 with a Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to this she obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honors) from the Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2010.
Functional Dry Needling Levels 1 &2 (2019)
Active Release Techniques (ART) Full Body Certified (2017)
Acupuncture Canada Certified (2013)
Manual Therapy Level 2 Canadian Orthopedic Division (2016)

Specialities/Approach:
Juliana’s continuing education certifications allow her to have a diverse treatment approach to suit any injury or individual. She has particular interest in athletic populations and those living with arthritis, but enjoys treating individuals from all walks of life. Juliana has one common goal for all her clients- getting them back to the life and activities they love. Juliana’s approach is for her clients to leave feeling educated, motivated to reach their goals, and of course, feeling better!

About/Athletics:
Juliana grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland where her family still resides today. Juliana grew up playing competitive soccer and rugby and competed across Canada and the USA. She still remains very active at the gym and on the trails hiking, running, and biking.

Why she became a physiotherapist:
Having an athletic background and experiencing her own injuries, Juliana had positive results with physiotherapy growing up. She decided in high school that it was the career path she wanted to follow so she studied hard for 6 years to make that dream come true.

Something you should know about her:
Juliana’s love for the ocean also had her considering becoming a marine biologist, but because she gets seasick decided sticking to land and becoming a physiotherapist would be a better choice. She is married to Domenic (don’t use it against her). The two met in physiotherapy school in Ontario and they started their life together in BC in 2012.

About:

Kate grew up in a big coastal town in New South Wales, Australia. Her love of early morning runs, spending time at the beach, and desire to travel the globe are all related to her upbringing.  She initially practiced physiotherapy in Australia, and in 2014 she moved to the United Kingdom and was able to practice Physiotherapy there. Whilst living in the UK she travelled Europe at every opportunity that presented itself; she has travelled to over twenty-five countries. Kate found herself back in Australia in 2016, but soon decided she wanted to continue her explorer-like lifestyle and moved to Canada. She began her time here on a working holiday visa as a personal trainer, but quickly realized she belonged here due to her love for trail running and snowboarding. The mountains and west coast lifestyle made her decide to stay and become a registered physiotherapist in the Lower Mainland.

Why She Became a Physiotherapist:

Kate has a passion for all things movement. She loves to educate people on the mechanics of their bodies to help get them out of pain and back to living their lives happily and injury-free. Her tenacious work ethic and curiosity of all things movement related fuel her practice as a physiotherapist.
Coming from a family with a strong medical background, Kate was encouraged to go into a field consisting of impactful and important work that would allow her to fulfill her desire to help others.

Athletics:

Kate has a long history of athletics starting with her humble beginnings of playing soccer, field hockey, and gymnastics while growing up. Along the way (at 15 years of age), she discovered her love of running and has since completed eleven marathons, over thirty half marathons, qualified for the Boston Marathon four times, and completed it in person in 2021 and 2023. Her love of trail running has also led her to complete several ultramarathons including the Squamish 50 Mile in 2019—her longest run to date.

Something You Should Know About Her:

First and foremost, you should know that Kate loves running (as proven by her race resume). She is also absolutely obsessed with Les Mills group fitness and is a qualified instructor in over five different classes. Outside of fitness, Kate spends the majority of her spare time with her goofy Labrador named Moose. They love to go on big hikes in the mountains and share delicious snacks.
